Makerere University Business School is the leading provider of Business and Management Education that facilitates professional development promotes Entrepreneurship and Leadership in the region.

The MUBS Regional Campus – Mbarara was established in 2006 by the MUBS Council, with the aim of extending Business & Management education to the people from the western region. This was further      intended to bring services nearer to the people rather than the communities come to the Main Campus in Kampala.

The Regional Campus – Mbarara, continues to provide aspiring people young and old, with an opportunity to develop their talents and strength and overcome their fears and weaknesses through different academic and training programmes. The Regional Campus has grown and continued to attract a number of students in different disciplines. Currently the campus has a total number of about 837 students.

Makerere University Business School Regional Campus, Mbarara is located on Kamukuzi Hill approximately 3.0 Kilometers from Mbarara town. Access to the campus premises from the town centre is by way of Kabale road for 2.0 Kilometers followed by the right turn onto Bushenyi – Fortportal road for about 500 meters. Finally turn right onto Kamukuzi road approximately 300 meters to the campus premises.

Campus Strategic Objectives for the period 2018/2019

Short-term Objectives (12 months)

  1. To increase the intake of students on our programmes by 20%.
  2. Reduce failure rates to less than 15%.
  3. Continuously improve the quality of programmes by targeting staff-student ratio of 1:15 by AY2019/2018.
  4. To have a functioning students’ guild.
  5. Improve the staff and student welfare
  6. Holding a Business Seminar every semester

Administrative Structure at the Campus – Organogram

Management Team

The Campus has a five (5) member management team duly appointed by the Principal. The function of the management team is to overseer the day to-day operations of campus activities and ensure smooth running of systems in place. The list of members of the management team is presented in table 1.

Administration
